Seena

Interests: Superhero by day, radio DJ by night. I like good live music, traveling to far away lands, cuddling with my pup Koga (yes, he is named after the character in Inuyasha), kicking your ass at video games, obsessing over True Blood and Dexter, making dirty jokes and FOOD NOMNOM!

Nerdy Interests: Before anything else, I’m a radio nerd. Been doing this for almost 9 years which means AudioVault, Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, VoxPro, and I run a digital board that makes it look like I’m the captain of the Starship Enterprise. I’m not just a voice and I love love love the technical aspect of broadcasting. I also enjoy typical nerdette activities… Gamer all my life and self-proclaimed Final Fantasy freak. I know loving RPGs is typical of girls but I will also kick your ass at most racing games. I even own a freakin’ Dreamcast and the ORIGINAL Game Boy! Fan of Street Fighter (I was Chun-Li last Halloween) and DarkStalkers (my dream is to cosplay as Morrigan Aensland). Used to collect comic books, mostly Spider-Man and X-Men. My favorite shirt is a blue Spider-Man shirt, which is actually made for a 12-year-old boy to wear but who’s checking right?

Turn-ons: You HAVE to make me laugh because humor makes my world go ’round. I have this hunch I’m supposed to marry a comic book creator/writer/artist… Which explains why I get all tingly every year when it’s time for the San Diego Comic-Con. We should also share favorite bands or you should at least like listening to music. It IS my work afterall so chances are I won’t be into you if your iTunes playlist sucks.

Turn-offs: A big… huge… nasty… fat… EGO. I don’t care who your parents are, what sports car you drive, what Ivy League school you graduated from, or how many bills you’ve got to make it rain at the club. That’s not gonna get you into my skinny jeans. Oh, and if you treat me like i’m just a pretty face with nothing inside my skull… you can shove off. I’m an educated lady who loves intellectual conversation.

Geekiest thing I have ever done: Let’s see… Collect the entire Japanese manga Sailor-Moon series (and read it, I know Japanese)? Or is it the GIANT Pikachu sitting on my bed? Maybe it was when I made out with a guy who had a custom made Spider-Man suit? All of the above. ;]

Quorra Flynn

Interests: Acting, Gaming, COMICS!, Horror movies, European history,  Star Wars, TRON, Harry Potter, cosplay, traveling, classic rock, death metal, fantasy fiction, giraffes <3

Hobbies: Acting, making various things, collecting figures, watching movies, drawing, playing video games, mini golf, BLOGGING, collecting movie posters, reading, playing piano, exploring the woods, lol. I love researching insects, I find them fascinating. I do so many things. As long as I’m doing something, I’m happy. I hate sitting around, it makes me crazy!

Turn-ons: SENSE OF HUMOR! I’m a really snarky person, and if you can keep up with me and fire ‘em right back, it instantly makes you 10 times cooler. Respectfulness, Star Wars, zombies, people who will accept my crazy nerviness and join in on the fun with me.

Turn-offs: Cockiness is the biggest one, and bad manners.  Country music, irresponsibility, and I hate overly critical people. Lighten up! Life is short. :)

Geekiest thing I have ever done: There have been a lot of things. Most everything I do is geeky in some way, so it’s hard to gauge. Maybe completing a screen-accurate replica
of the Red Mist costume from KICK-ASS,  before the movie even came out, dyeing my hair to match, and then wearing it to NYCC to meet John Romita Jr.. in it. He signed my cape and said I was better than the movie. I don’t think I’ve ever fangirled as hard as I did then.  That, or tattooing Storm Troopers on my shoulders. That’s pretty nerdy.

Lisa Foiles

Interests: I like typefaces. Typefaces are pretty sweet. Not fonts. Fonts and typefaces are two totally different things. I like video games, cats, couch forts, candy, Nerf guns, LEGO, robots, dinosaurs, beer, and non-crappy chipmusic. Aside from that, I hate pretty much everything.

Hobbies:

§ Yelling profanities at my Xbox

§ Writing articles for Kotaku.com about how I yell profanities at my Xbox

§ Posting pictures of cats on my video game site, LoadSavePoint.com

§ Falling asleep holding my Kids Choice Award

§ Juggling

Turn-ons: Guys who get my Karate Kid references.

Turn-offs: Guys who don’t get my Karate Kid references.

Geekiest thing I have ever done: It’s a toss up between the time I kicked the asses of five guy friends at Star Wars Trivial Pursuit and referred to them all as my “Ewok bitches,” or the fact that I’ve typed up this entire biography using an Xbox controller + chatpad I hooked up to my Macbook. Normal keyboards are for douche bags.

FN Pryde

Turn-offs: Guys who think they’re hot and overly muscled up men. I want a guy I can snuggle up to, not some dumb jock.

Geekiest thing I have ever done: Good god, where to start? I guess entering a nation wide Hooters Halloween Costume Contest online as the 90′s version of the X-Men’s Kitty Pryde complete w/ Lockheed shoulder dragon. I banded all the geeks on the internet together and brought home a win. The girls at had no idea who Shadowcat was and mocked me mercilessly about it. (One girl thought I was Sailor Moon)

Hobbies: Watching my favorite geek TV shows, making (and wearing) grandiose costumes, reading epic novels (usually fantasy), cooking, traveling to distant lands and skiing. I have far too much energy to sit still!

Turn-ons: Men who love cats. Ain’t nothing sexier than a man who loves… I was not going to say that! I’m also not afraid to admit that I love (non-sparkly) vampires. What? They’re hot.

Turn-offs: Negativity and people who put others down to feed their own ego.

Geekiest thing I have ever done: Aside from the fact that I manage to do at least 27 geeky things in any given day, I once made a music video about Comic-Con and dedicated it to my all-time geek hunk Nathan Fillion (who to this day has probably never seen it).

Hobbies:
Fixing Computers and Gadgets, Drawing, Running, Dance, & anything related to X-Men.

Turns-Ons:
The number one thing I look for in a guy is a great personality. A guy
who is smart, funny, and has good manners rates over a hot super model
any day in my book! Also, a man who is cool enough to ask me on a date that includes pizza and some Pac-Man is a total winner!

Turn-Offs:
Men who are cocky or desperate. Both are a major turn-off. I like a man who is well-balanced and confident. Also, if you can’t stand the thought spending a Saturday afternoon watching cartoons or playing Blokus you’re done.

Geekiest Thing I have Ever Done:
Blowing off a guy to play Rubix Cube. If that’s not geeky then I don’t know what is!

Squeak

Interests: Comic books, astronomy, physics, Magic: The Gathering, writing, currency tracking (Wheresgeorge.com), the Society for Creative Anachronism, RPG games, Quidditch, theatre (BAM.org), Cosplay, fan fiction, actuaries, and aerial dance.

Hobbies: I love astronomy and physics. I currently am a member of a local astronomy club and I have a 5″ refractor telescope that I try to go viewing with as often as possible. I like deep space objects the best so don’t bother asking me how Saturn is doing or, god forbid, the moon. Historical research and reenactment is another hobby of mine. I am deeply fascinated with 10th-16th century textiles and culture of Southern India. I have traveled all around the country and to London’s V&A to study the extant pieces of textiles and jewelry from that time period and region. I have taught classes on the subject and hope to one day publish my documentation. For a nerd I’m also quite athletic! I am co-captain of the Delaware Valley Dragons Quidditch team and I play as a Chaser. I also enjoy many forms of circus and aerial dance; everything from pole, to lyra, to silks, and more. Then of course, there is my comic book collection. I bought my first X-Men comic in September of 1993 and I haven’t stopped yet! I now collect dozens of titles each month and I have them organized in magazine holders set onto a very large shelving unit in my finished basement. I don’t have an accurate count but I imagine that my comics number into the thousands by now.

Turn-ons: Alan Rickman, glasses, Alan Rickman wearing glasses, facial hair, Alan Rickman with facial hair, world domination monologues, Alan Rickman delivering a world domination monologue, and…errr…did I mention I like Alan Rickman?

Turn-offs: People who only know how to communicate via text messaging or social networking sites (what’s wrong with having a real conversation?)…and poor grammar.

Geekiest thing I have ever done: Wow, this is a tough one; partly because who is to say what is most “geeky”? I know LARPers who refuse to join my Quidditch team because they think it “uncool” and I know SCAdians who think LARPing is silly. It is difficult to decipher who or what activity reigns supreme on the tier of geek-dom. I suppose I shall have to go with one of my more recent geeky doings. I had downloaded a bunch of game soundtracks to my iPod (Baldur’s Gate, Morrowind, Diablo 2, and the like) so that I could have it playing in the background during one of my monthly Magic: The Gathering parties. (That would have earned me quite the ass-kicking back in High School.)
